Our Love Story

Our story is a little different from most. We met on Tinder one afternoon and started chatting about pasta and pizza. After only a few hours of talking, I (Wilmari) mentioned that all the food talk had made me hungry. That was all the encouragement Leonard needed — he asked me to join him for pizza at a restaurant called Some Oaks. Little did I know, he was actually ditching dinner with his mom to take me out on a date.

We ended up spending hours together, talking about everything and nothing. Somewhere between slices of pizza, we discovered that we had attended the same university and even shared a few lecturers. What started as one casual date quickly turned into weekly dinners.

One night, while I was happily stuffing my face with pizza, Leonard looked at me and said, “I have such a beautiful girlfriend.” Just like that — no big question, no dramatic moment — he had decided. Apparently, I was his girlfriend and that was that.

Pizza soon became our love language. Every year since, we’ve celebrated our anniversary with pizza — sometimes at a restaurant, sometimes homemade — but always together.

Eight years, three cats, and three homes later, Leonard finally decided the time was right to ask me to marry him. And yes, we were eating pizza. Of course, I said yes. Our lives together are only just beginning, and I can’t imagine spending the rest of my years gaming and eating with anyone else.
